Dr Marisa Nguyen

It has been a long and interesting path finding my way to this area of medicine that I am passionate about.

I completed my medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2006. I spent a number of years working in General Surgery before returning to the University of Queensland and attaining a Masters of International Public Health in 2014. I have also completed a Diploma of Child Health, fulfilled all requirements to qualify as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), am accredited in Neuroprotective Developomental Care (NDC) and am currently completing tertiary level studies in Holistic Sleep Coaching.

Following the births of my own 3 children, I became interested in breastfeeding and early parenting support. I recognised the need for more services in this area and set about expanding my knowledge. That being said, my own 3 children remain some of my greatest teachers!

I am always keen to learn something new. This trait certainly keeps my life interesting and has the added bonus of bringing you up to date information on all things baby related.

In my time away from work I enjoy cooking, reading and permaculture gardening.
